RATES

Square Inch Price

I charge 3 cents per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .03 = $144.

My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend and 100% cotton.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.60/in = $39.00
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $26.65

Thread

I stock both Superior King Tut (#40) and Superior So Fine (#50) threads.

My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

I often find that a light Grey or White is best as it blends into the background and allows you piece work to be highlighted.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in San Ramon, California, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Upon completion of your quilt I will send you an invoice with return shipping cost included.

Other Costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. 8.75 % sales tax will be applied to all batting orders.

As a small business owner I am also required by the State of California to collect a 8.75% sales tax on the quilting service portion of an invoice for residents of California.
